710 ESPN Seattle is looking for a talk show host for an entertaining, informative, compelling, fast-paced Seattle sports talk show on Sunday nights for two hours. The host will grow the audience for these broadcasts and promote the show by using excellent writing and social media skills.  Must have ability to prepare thoughtful, curious topics and present them in a fun, unique manner.

Host should have strong understanding of and appeal on digital channels (i.e. stream, on-demand, etc.).


  • Ability to plan, prepare, produce and deliver content in shows in an entertaining and professional manner.
  • Ability to build audience by connecting on a personal level with listeners/users and generating loyalty.
  • Ability to work independently at times, but also able to take direction from Management/Supervisors.
  • Basic understanding of operating a remote broadcast (if not in Bonneville Seattle studio).
  • Ability to recognize, conceptualize, and develop unique angles and topics within the most talked about stories of the day.
  • Wide range of sports and entertainment resources and contacts.
  • Knows the difference between a news story and compelling and entertaining talk topics.
  • Ability to identify compelling audio and know how to incorporate into show.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with a variety of passionate, excitable and driven personalities.
  • Self-starter with ability to change gears quickly.
  • Creative problem solving skills and ability to think quickly on your feet.
  • Familiar with laws on libel and slander and familiar with FCC Rules and Regulations.
  • Ability to integrate programming content on a variety of new media platforms including the internet, text messaging and other newly developed technologies. Word processing and computer skills required.
  • Assertive attitude with a strong desire to advance in broadcasting media.
  • Understand station's brand promise and work in compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Project an appropriate professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Ability to work in a fast and concise manner under pressure. Demonstrated ability to present live and ad-lib unscripted content with continuity, meaning and clarity.
  • Please submit a segment (at least 10 minutes) of your most recent talk show broadcast, or relevant demo that demonstrates an ability to speak to a sports talk audience


  • Previous hosting experience (1-2 years).
  • Previous radio experience (in sports or other radio disciplines)
  • Bachelor's Degree in communication, journalism, related field, or equivalent experience.


  • Receive, process, and maintain information through oral and/or written communication effectively.
  • Substantial physical movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
  • Ability to extend hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction with good eye and hand coordination.
  • Lift, move, and carry up to 20 pounds on occasion.
