POSITION PURPOSE:

Bonneville Seattle is seeking a dynamic leader to serve as our Director of Sales (DOS) and oversee all aspects of the sales operation for Bonneville Seattle.

The DOS will be instrumental in developing the company's sales philosophy, strategies and plan.

The DOS will provide direction and leadership to ensure the Seattle sales organization consistently achieves its goals.

They will ensure the Bonneville Seattle market regularly outperforms market growth rates by over-achieving in new developmental and non-traditional revenue initiatives (heavy focus on digital), meets and exceeds revenue goals, attracts and retains top sales talent and supports, incents and encourages sales talent to achieve their goals, leads the marketplace in providing customer-focused marketing solutions and is acutely focused on driving digital business.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create/Develop and lead a winning, team-oriented, sales culture and regularly grow/build skill sets and grow new customers and new revenue streams which enable the Company to grow at a rate far exceeding the market's spot revenue growth.
  • Oversee the programming and commercial load in conjunction with Director of Programming
  • Oversee forecasting and budgeting for the market.
  • Cultivate strong, productive relationships with top advertisers and key agencies.
  • Provide direction, guidance and coaching to sales management and support staff team
  • Develop commission plan
  • Develop and implement processes for effective management of inventory and pricing.
  • Manage sales expenses at or below budgets.
  • Lead recruitment and training efforts for sales function.
  • Work closely with other managers to ensure fluid communication and partnership.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proven experience in leading, inspiring, coaching and developing teams
  • Proven track record of achieving and exceeding budgets and growing market share
  • Proven ability to develop integrated marketing solutions and grow digital revenue
  • Excellent understanding of digital platforms and experience in growing AE, manager and client knowledge and use of digital assets.
  • Ability to organize, analyze and interpret statistical data. Draw conclusions from finding and follow-through.
  • CRM experience
  • Excellent understanding of pricing and managing inventory
  • Skilled negotiator with ability to up-sell
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision, confidential information and be a self-starter.
  • Capable and willing to resolve unexpected problems and be flexible to perform unscheduled assignments.
  • A high level of proficiency with computers, software and new technologies.
  • Have excellent knowledge of Nielsen methodology, reporting and resources.
  • Thorough knowledge of FCC regulations
  • Up-to-date knowledge and skills in the use of digital tools and platforms
  • Ability to foster positive working relationships and achieve cooperation and collaboration amongst staff and externally with partners/clients.
  • Maintain a valid driver's license and proven ability to safely drive personal vehicle without exposing company to serious liability risks.
  • Able to manage stress effectively

  • Possess excellent oral, written, presentation and interpersonal skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Degree in business, communications, sales, marketing or related field
  • 5+ years of successful sales experience including 2+ years in management
  • Media broadcasting sales experience preferred, particularly with news/talk/sports formats
  • Experience in Wide Orbit and Efficio

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Receive, process, and maintain information through oral and/or written communication effectively.
  • Substantial physical movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
  • Ability to extend hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction with good eye and hand coordination.
  • Lift, move, and carry up to 20 pounds on occasion
