Job Title: Broadcast Maintenance Engineer

Reports to: Chief Engineer


To provide professional technical support to Bonneville Seattle radio stations including maintenance and construction of the digital on air studios, provide assistance with all platforms of broadcast transmission, provide end user IT support of hardware, software and systems. Engineer remote broadcasts, assist with building maintenance.


  1. Perform electronic and mechanical maintenance (routine and emergency) on all digital and analog equipment in the broadcast studios.
  2. Provide end user IT support on hardware, software and systems with excellent customer support.
  3. Assist with electronic and mechanical maintenance (routine and emergency) on all satellite receiver systems.
  4. Provide technical support for audio and video streaming platforms.
  5. Engineer remote broadcasts, maintain remote kits and remote equipment.
  6. Perform internal and external building maintenance of HVAC, electrical and plumbing and grounds.
  7. Assist with proper operation, maintenance and repairs of analog and HD Transmitters, STL microwave, translators, UHF and VHF transmitters and transceivers.
  8. Use ticketing system tracking to track support tickets, maintain efficiency and catalogue issues.
  9. Resolve trouble tickets in a reasonable amount of time
  10. Continually grow knowledge and understanding of all audio and video paths, network structure and on-air systems (AXIA, Audio Vault, News Boss, etc.) and IT networks.
  11. Perform other duties as assigned.


  • Exhibit excellent customer service skills, including friendly approachable demeanor, patience, when dealing with difficult users and an ability to maintain a calm level-headed approach while under pressure or in a difficult situation.
  • Ability to create digital and written documentation.
  • Good bench soldering skills
  • Pays attention to details to insure work is conducted to best of abilities.
  • Works well in groups or by self with direction.
  • Experience in a help desk role
  • Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
  • Experience working remote broadcasts
  • Works assigned regular hours with flexibility to work additional hours as needed to meet deadlines including weekends, holidays, evenings, etc.
  • Work in compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a positive and cooperative rapport with staff, management, and clients.


  • Experience with Mac computing hardware and software.
  • Experience with production tools (i.e. Pro Tools)
  • Knowledge and familiarity with the following programs: Axia, Audio Vault, News Boss, Pro Tools


  • Receive, process and maintain information through oral and/or written communication effectively.
  • Substantial movement of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
  • Ability to extend hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction with good hand and eye coordination.
  • Able to lift, move and carry up to 50 pounds on occasion.
